Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You can often find pneumatic forklifts in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to move products and supplies around on wooden pallets using metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which can lift the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.
To be able to prevent loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Equipment should be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make certain that the handle could smoothly turn. The pallet should be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.
To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be centered in order to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is truly not safe to push the pallet in front of you because the momentum can cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop abruptly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
