Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device really impressed a lot of customers and thus, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the early years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment must be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
