Reach Truck
A reach truck is used to stock up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage areas orderly. The reach truck comes in several types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This model has telescopic forks designed to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Inside most warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Textile companies and manufacturing facilities use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and could make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
