Inventor Jerome Case established the business of CASE in Racine, when he started the construction of threshing equipment. Later the company gained recognition internationally as the initial builder of steam engines for its agricultural application. Case had established themselves in the construction machinery business by 1912. They became a producer of road building machinery including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction machine business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation during 1957. Case had expanded their company by the middle part of the 1990s to become the top manufacturer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland during the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising some of the top brands of construction and agricultural machinery in the world.
